EcoMode (www.ecomode.hu website and EcoMode mobile application) is committed to protecting the personal data of users. The purpose of this Notice is to make the data processing procedures implemented during the Service transparent in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation of the European Union (GDPR - Regulation 2016/679/EU) and the Act 2011 on information self-determination and freedom of information (Info. Act).

3. Scope, purpose, legal basis and duration of processed personal data

3.1. Registration and User Account Management

Data processed: Name, email address, password (in encrypted form), phone number (optional), username, profile data.

Purpose of data processing: Creation and identification of the user account, provision of the Service, and communication with the User.

Legal basis of data processing: Performance of a contract to which the Data Subject is a party (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).

Data retention period: Until the user account is deleted, or until the Service is discontinued. For documents constituting accounting records, 8 years from issuance.

3.2. Location Data (Only during application operation)

The EcoMode application uses geolocation (GPS) data to provide basic functions, strictly with the prior consent and control of the User.

Data processed: Geographic location (GPS coordinates), speed data.

Purpose of data processing: Automatic determination of transportation mode, calculation of eco-friendly score, route planning, and generation of daily statistics/summaries.

Legal basis of data processing: Explicit consent of the Data Subject (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)).

Data retention period: Raw location data is stored until the purpose of data processing is achieved (e.g., calculation of daily route and score), after which it is anonymized or deleted.

Special guarantees: The application only collects location data when it is actively running or tracking travel in the background (during a User-initiated session). Consent can be revoked at any time in the device settings without justification.

3.3. Technical Data and Log Files (Logs)

Data processed: IP address, device type, operating system, application version, access date and time.

Purpose of data processing: Ensuring information security of the Service, debugging, and optimizing system operation.

Legal basis of data processing: Legitimate interest of the Data Controller (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).

Data retention period: Log files are automatically deleted after 30 days from recording.

4. Cookie Management on the website

The www.ecomode.hu website uses cookies and similar technologies to provide the best user experience.

Essential (Basic) cookies required for operation: Without these, the website would not function properly (e.g., session identifiers, security cookies). The use of these cookies is based on the legitimate interest of the Data Controller and cannot be disabled.

Analytical and Statistical cookies: Help understand how visitors interact with the website (e.g., Google Analytics). Legal basis: User consent.

Marketing cookies: Intended to display relevant advertisements on third-party platforms. Legal basis: User consent.

The User can declare their acceptance of analytical and marketing cookies through the 'Cookie Panel' (Cookie banner) that appears when first visiting the website. Settings can be modified at any time from the browser, and cookies can be deleted.
